Hunting in the Savanna:
All safaris are conducted on a 1:1 basis, each hunting guest is accompanied by a professional hunter with own hunting vehicle and a team of trackers and carriers. Per safari a maximum of 3 hunters may stay in one camp at the same time.
13 days safari are the hunting period to which you need to add 2 travel days or more, depending the chosen transport to the camp. In any case, we will provide you with a full program of your safari.
License:
The HUNTING LICENSE allows harvesting a maximum of 2 game species from group A and 4 from group B and C.
It is illegal to double the same species, irrespective of the license taken.
It is possible to get a Medium license that allows hunting six different species from group B and C (none from A).
For Big safaris (13/10 days), it is possible to upgrade the hunt with a second license.

Our Hunting Area:
KOUROUK is located between two National Parks, La Bénoué y Bouba Ndjida, with a total of 146.912 Ha (363.026 Acre) hunting area.
Historical Cameroon's zone with magnific mountains views and valleys riche of that special vegetation for the Lord Derby Eland. We combine Kourouk with the Mana area 46.000 Ha. (113.668,3 acre) directly limited by the Faro National Park. This combination of territories is the best hunting area in Cameroon.
You and your companions will enjoy one of the most iconic place in Africa, superbly equipped with traditional accommodation.
The Hunting Method:
You will be hunting with your dedicated PH and his team of trackers and gun bearers, and will be using one of our Toyota SUV vehicle, specialy equiped, to move within the area. Our PHs are specialists, with a great experience and international prestige.
The usual way to hunt is to walk or drive around, looking for a fresh track, and then to follow it up on foot until we find the specimen hunted that day. Sometimes the animal can be also spotted and stalked.
Safari is tradition and prestige. Sport hunting is where you win every trophy.
Our Camp:
Base camp Kourouk, has a great location on a river side, along which is situated the dining room, a nice terrace and lounge bar. We offer comfortable rooms / bungalows, in traditional African style. Each bungalow consists of a room with 1 or 2 beds, mosquito nets, desk, closet, rack, fan and full bathroom, providing Roon service and daily Laundry. WIFI available in the dining area.
The whole camp is illuminated, with guards 24 hours. We have solar energy with powerful generators.
There is a special area for taxidermy and personnal.
Travel Formalities:
Vaccination Requirements & Medicines:
In Cameroun the Yellow fever vaccination is obligatory and the preventive for malaria is necessary, you will need to contact your doctor or the International health department in your country, who will inform you about the vaccination in Cameroun. Also you must take with you your Yellow card Vaccine, as the border agents will be asking you for this document on your arrival.
Airport Assistance:
The airport assistance includes: the booking of your hotel in Douala, assistance in Douala Airport at the customs, transfer to the Hotel, next day transfer to the domestic flight, then on your departure day you will be transfered from the domestic flight to your international flight.
Please remember you are in Africa and specially in Cameroun. It is normal that people can ask you for money, but in your airport assistance is included all tips and fee. In case someone ask you for money on your arrival or departure, we beg you not to give any money and please inform us because we will then file a complaint to the Douala airport manager.
Rifles & Ammunitions:
Cameroon’s law allows importing two rifles per hunter. There is a limit of 50 bullets per rifle/shotgun as ammunition imported per hunter. Depending on the animals to be hunted, we recommend:
The best option is the combination of two rifles: a light one like caliber 270 and a bigger one like a 375 or more. If you are not hunting elephant, one medium/high caliber likes 300 Mag. or bigger can be useful.
Ammunitions: 40 – soft / 10 ‐solids.
If you prefer not to take your rifle, we have a wide variety of rifles for rent and ammunition for sale.
Climate & Clothing:
Kourouk is located in the savanna; the weather is warm and dry during the day but cool nights from December to mid-March. Heat increases progressively till the first rain at the end of April.
We recommend a list of items you should take with you : 2 caps, 3 sets of T-shirt (green), 3 sets of pants or shorts, 1 warm jacket, 1 pair of gloves, 2 paires shoes (lace up high top), 3 T-shirts or shirt for the camp, 1 pair for glasses, head net and head lamp or flashlight. Also, Personal medical kit, Anti‐malaria pils, Insect repellent and sunlotion will be needed.
Don't forget your photo camera and your light-weight pair of binoculars. Remember you have daily laundry service in camp
Trophies:
This is a very IMPORTANT point when planning a trip to Cameroun. Export your trophies can be very problematic in this part of Africa, where weather conditions combine to often with poor logistics, which can have devastating effects on your trophies. We proud ourselves to have this aspect of your safari well covered, offering you a much secured way to export your trophies anywhere in the world. All trophies from Cameroun normally transit first through France and then are shipped all over the world.
Trophy Export Includes:
Pretaxidermia as well as export preparation of all trophies.
All requested documens from Camoroun including trophy harvesting cerficates, Cite’s permit and veterinary certificate.

Not included in Trophy Export costs:
Custom Clearance in France, inspection, storage and shipping cost to final destination. When confirming your safari with us, we will give you our broker agent's contacts, so no time will be wasted when forwarding your trophies to your final destination. A full quote will then be sent to you.
Typical Itinerary:
Based on the most used flights provided by AIR FRANCE (daily flights to DOUALA), and BRUSSELS AIRLINES (5 flights a week)
Last day Departure from the camp to Ngaoundere by road, domestic flight to Douala and departure from Douala with international flight.
Booking the Flights:
They are several companies that land in Douala.
We recommend to fly to Douala two days before the domestic flight schedule, to avoid delays with luggage or flight arrival. Usually, luggage and flights arrive on time.
Our company is not responsible for any flight cancellation, delays or flight schedule or fare changes.
It is important that you buy an open date ticket, to be able to change your ticket in case of delays or in case you need toleave earlier.
Concerning the domestic flight from Douala to Ngaoundere, the company is Camairco.
From Douala to Ngaoundere (Monday and Friday), and then you will be driven about 200 Km to the camp, which means around 4 hours’ drive. Normally, we book this flight for you.
